This WAS going to be a great big theatrical “HI! and welcome to Mike McCartney’s fab gear, fun filled first website” …with lots of lively wacker wit, and action-packed escapades over my many extraordinary, show - biz years.

That was BEFORE I went to a family 60th birthday party and thanked a teenage waitress for her buffet assistance with a fatherly pat on the back. She, and her school friend, then accused me (for whatever reason) of touching her bottom.

Having been given the custody of my three daughters by a Judge after my divorce and bringing up three teenage girls, this was such an inconceivable and nasty suggestion, I immediately insisted the police be called to clear my personal reputation and good family name.

Therein lies a long and unbelievable story….firstly a prisoner in my own home, then crucified by the media in the full public glare, i.e. GUILTY till proved INNOCENT! and all this before it even got to court! For ONE AND A HALF YEARS me, my wife and my family had to endure a living hell, a nightmare which turned into a daymare, and all for something which NEVER HAPPENED!

Halfway through, the Crown Court Judge halted my trial, brought by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) saying it should never have been brought to court and blasted the CPS, saying “Not only was there was an appalling delay, I should NOT have been prosecuted, the CPS should be ashamed of themselves, and that I left court without a stain on my character, and…totally INNOCENT “(as the Liverpool Echo proudly declared) The Judge also made the CPS pay ALL costs (an extremely rare decision)... all unfortunately too late, as the damage had been done.

What’s even worse, the lying girl who deliberately caused me and my families nightmare has been protected by anonymity from the day it happened, September 3rd 2004, up to the very second you read these words…not only that (with the reality my name has been publicly tarnished round the world) if I were to tell you the GIRL'S name now, I would be put in prison!!!…..but more of that in the future.

Today, over two years after my personal nightmare, the terrifying reality is that NOTHING has changed! The law and the system which allowed this to happen to me and my family then, is still exactly the same as it was…NOW!
Sadly what happened to me yesterday, could happen to YOU tomorrow.

To try to stop this happening to anyone else, I’ve started a campaign to change the draconian law of anonymity for one person (whilst the other person is thrown to the wolves) to anonymity for BOTH people, until the truth is established in court… i.e. A4B'.....(A)nonymity for (B)oth.
